The ninth-ranked Arkansas softball team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back en route to a 12-0, five-inning run-rule win over No. 18 Clemson on Friday night in Day 2 of the States Up! Invitational in San Marcos, Texas.
The Razorbacks sent three runners home right off the bat, taking a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a three-run home run by third baseman Ella McDowell.
That was all the runs the Razorbacks would need in the victory. Arkansas lefty Robyn Herron pitched a gem to pick up the win, as she tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out 11.
