HOUSTON -- Although Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien said he doesn’t plan to use the 16-point line against the New England Patriots in Saturday’s playoff game as motivation, his players have other plans.
“[It] boosts us up a little bit,” defensive end Jadeveon Clowney said. “‘OK, we’re going to show them.’ One of the mentalities this week going into this game is we’re the underdogs, always been underdogs all season and let’s go out there and prove to them why we’re here in this second round now. So, it’s time to go out here and compete.”
The Texans won the AFC South, but they did so with a 9-7 record, tied for the worst among this year’s playoff teams with the Detroit Lions.
