Mariners Acquire LHP Josh Simpson from Miami Marlins in Exchange for Cash Considerations

PEORIA, Ariz. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today the Mariners have acquired LHP Josh Simpson from the Miami Marlins in exchange for cash considerations. In a corresponding move, RHP Logan Evans was placed on the 60-day Injured List.

The Mariners 40-man roster remains full at 40 players.

Simpson, 28, made 31 relief appearances with Miami in 2025, going 4–2 with 7.34 ERA (25 ER, 30.2 IP), 22 walks and 36 strikeouts. He made his Major League debut on June 21 vs.
